Valentine's Day Books

These past few days, I've been talking about some feel-good books that I think are perfect for this occasion. These also has boys that will swoon you. Here are some of them:

Purchase: Amazon | B&N | TBD

Synopsis: Who would have guessed that four minutes could change everything?

Today should be one of the worst days of seventeen-year-old Hadley Sullivan's life. Having missed her flight, she's stuck at JFK airport and late to her father's second wedding, which is taking place in London and involves a soon-to-be stepmother Hadley's never even met. Then she meets the perfect boy in the airport's cramped waiting area. His name is Oliver, he's British, and he's sitting in her row.

A long night on the plane passes in the blink of an eye, and Hadley and Oliver lose track of each other in the airport chaos upon arrival. Can fate intervene to bring them together once more?

Quirks of timing play out in this romantic and cinematic novel about family connections, second chances, and first loves. Set over a twenty-four-hour-period, Hadley and Oliver's story will make you believe that true love finds you when you're least expecting it.

Who doesn't love British boys and their sexy accent? This one's a perfect mix of heartwarming and heartbreaking. Love definitely knows a good surprise and you'll never know, maybe the person sitting next to you at the airport or in the plane might be The One.
Title: Shrinking Violet
Author: Danielle Joseph
Purchase: Amazon | B&N | TBD

Synopsis: High school senior Teresa Adams is so painfully shy that she dreads speaking to anyone in the hallways or getting called on in class.

But in the privacy of her bedroom with her iPod in hand, she rocks out - doing mock broadcasts for Miami's hottest FM radio station, which happens to be owned by her stepfather. When a slot opens up at The SLAM, Tere surprises herself by blossoming behind the mike into confident, sexy Sweet T - and to everyone's shock, she's a hit!

Even Gavin, the only guy in school who she dares to talk to, raves about the mysterious DJ's awesome taste in music. But when The SLAM announces a songwriting contest -- and a prom date with Sweet T is the grand prize - Sweet T's dream could turn into Tere's worst nightmare...

This one has been made into a Disney movie starring Debby Ryan, but trust me, this one's so so so much better and sweeter. I don't know if it's just me but this one made me giggle like a girly girl while I was reading it. I almost felt like Tere, being nervous and all that. And the prom scene swooned me.
Title: Catching Jordan
Author: Miranda Kenneally
Purchase: Amazon | B&N | TBD

Synopsis: ONE OF THE BOYS

What girl doesn't want to be surrounded by gorgeous jocks day in and day out? Jordan Woods isn't just surrounded by hot guys, though-she leads them as the captain and quarterback of her high school football team. They all see her as one of the guys and that's just fine. As long as she gets her athletic scholarship to a powerhouse university.

But everything she's ever worked for is threatened when Ty Green moves to her school. Not only is he an amazing QB, but he's also amazingly hot. And for the first time, Jordan's feeling vulnerable. Can she keep her head in the game while her heart's on the line?

The only girl in the team? I definitely want to be Jordan. I have read this book thrice and I still feel giddy every time some scenes are brought up. And although I am, and will forever be, rooting for Sam Henry, Ty also managed to swoon me. For those who are planning to read this, watch out for the Jerry Rice scene. I just love that!

Anna and the French Kiss
Purchase: Amazon | B&N | TBD

Synopsis: Anna is looking forward to her senior year in Atlanta, where she has a great job, a loyal best friend, and a crush on the verge of becoming more. Which is why she is less than thrilled about being shipped off to boarding school in Paris--until she meets Étienne St. Clair. Smart, charming, beautiful, Étienne has it all...including a serious girlfriend.

But in the City of Light, wishes have a way of coming true. Will a year of romantic near-misses end with their long-awaited French kiss?

Romance in the city of Paris... Isn't that enough for you to grab the book? To add a cherry on top of it, Stephanie Perkins did a great job making us fall in love with the city, Anna and of course, St. Clair; who, I'm sure is everyone's YA crush.
A Girl Like You
Author: Gemma Burgess
Purchase: Amazon | B&N

Synopsis: "I've discovered the secret to successful singledom. I'm acting like a man. And it's working."

After breaking up with her boyfriend of, well, forever, Abigail Wood must learn how to be single from scratch. Her dating skills are abysmal, and she ricochets from disaster to disaster – until Robert, one of London's most notorious lotharios, agrees to coach her. With his advice, she learns to navigate the bastard-infested waters of the bar scene and practices the art of being bulletproof. The new Abigail is cocky, calm, composed… but what happens when she meets her match?

This book has one of the men I would probably hang out and fall in love with if they really exist. Robert was not just for the boyfriend position. Actually, he sucks at that since he's not into long term relationships. But he's really a good friend and someone you can depend on. And really cute. Him and Abigail are one of my favorite couples.

So that's it, guys. If you've read one of these, feel free to comment and tell me what do you think about it. Enjoy reading!

Happy Valentine's Day! xx
